Dinosaur Valley Endurance Run

VOLUNTEER

We need volunteers! Getting participants to the finish line of an ultramarathon is a COMMUNITY effort. This means our volunteers are a part of every single finisher medal and belt buckle we hand out over those 2 days!

It takes a lot of volunteer shifts to make this event successful. Over one hundred volunteer shifts in our table below, actually. We are thankful for our volunteers. Please look over the list below and then email us to volunteer!

Earn Free Race Entries!

We have a program to reward our volunteers with future free race entries! We keep it simple: accrue credits by volunteering for a shift, trade in your credits for comp entries into our trail or road races.

Accruing credits:

A 4-hour shift: 1 credit
An 8-hour volunteer shift: 2 credits
Trail work, course marking, course sweeping : double credits for the same time frame.

Spending credits:

Dino Valley 100 Miler : 6 credits
Dino Valley 100K / Cross Timbers 50 Miler : 4 credits
Dino Valley 50K / Rough Creek 40 Miler : 3 credits
Any road or trail half marathons or marathons : 2 credits
Any road or trail races under a half marathon distance (5K, 5 Mile, 10K): 1 credit

How to Volunteer

When you email, please state clearly

  1. what shifts you can take. If you can work more than one shift, tell us because that would be awesome. If you can only do a partial shift in your schedule, we're still thankful for the help and just let us know any limitations.
  2. any friends you want to volunteer alongside. If you have friends also planning to volunteer, please let me know who you want to be paired up with, and I will do my best to not split friends up when assigning volunteers to the aid stations!
  3. Let us know if you have medical training. We like to have a nice spread of people who are CPR-certified and could help bandage basic wounds and such out there across our aid stations.

We are also looking for mountain bikers who can ride between 6 and 18 miles of the course (depending on how far you want to ride) on Thursday afternoon and some bikers who can do that on Friday morning, between 6 am and 8 am.

Volunteer roles where we're looking for runners and walkers are in bold italics!
